Gonex Fly Fishing Rod and Reel Combo Starter Kit, 8FT 4-Piece Carbon Fiber Rod with Aluminum Reel
Gonex's 8FT 4-piece carbon fiber rod with an aluminum reel, a compact starter combo for creeks and ponds.
Price range: $ (Budget)
What we liked
- + 8FT carbon fiber rod is easier to manage on smaller water than a longer rod
- + Aluminum reel resists flex and holds up better than plastic starter reels
- + 4-piece breakdown makes the kit easy to store and transport
Trade-offs
- - Shorter rod gives up some reach on wide rivers and lakes
- - Check the line weight before ordering to match your target fish
