Price range: $ (Budget)
What we liked
- + Short 5 foot 6 inch rod swings easily under trees on tight mountain creeks
- + 3-weight line makes small trout and panfish feel lively on the rod
- + Starter kit format includes the reel so you can fish right away
Trade-offs
- - Very short rod limits reach for mending and high-sticking in bigger rivers
- - Light 3-weight struggles in wind and with heavy nymph rigs
